Indian Head Park is located in Cook County, a suburban area west of downtown Chicago. The Village is south of Western Springs, west of Countryside and northeast of Burr Ridge. It is slightly northeast of Interstate 294 and north of Interstate 55.
Residents whose water and sewer service is provided by the La Grange Highlands Sanitary District should call 708-246-5657. Residents whose water and sewer service is provided by the Village of Indian Head Park and who experience an emergency water or sewer problem during the normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, should Village Hall at 708-246-3080 and we will disptach the Public Works and Water Departments. Residents who experience an issue during non-business hours should call the non-emergency Police Department number, which is 708-246-4534, and if is an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
The Village of Indian Head Park makes a water quality report publicly available each year. The Consumer Confidence Report provides information about the quality of drinking water provided to our residents. Call 708-246-3080, and we can email you the most recent edition.
Building and zoning matters are handled by the office personnel of the Village of Indian Head Park Building and Zoning Department, and are overseen by members of the Board of Trustees. In addition, the Village contracts with a consulting firm whose staff performs inspections, reviews plans, issues reports, and provides advice and direction on building and zoning matters. The Building and Zoning staff may be reached by calling 708-246-3080 ext. 100 or by visiting the Village Administration Office.
The Police Department is staffed by a Chief of Police, a Deputy Chief, seven full-time Patrol Officers, and eleven part-time officers. The department’s staff also includes one full-time Records Clerk.
All calls to 911 in Indian Head Park are answered by professional dispatchers who are managed and administered by the Cook County Sheriff’s E-911 Dispatch Center.

No person, firm or corporation is allowed to burn any rubbish, garbage, trash or organic refuse such as tree branches or yard waste anywhere in the village of Indian Head Park.
SBC Waste Solutions provides refuse an recycling services for all single family homes in the Village as well as the townhomes in Ashbrook, Indian Woods Drive, and Chestnut on the Green. The two newspapers that serve the Indian Head Park area are Suburban Life and The Doings. Suburban Life (630-368-1100) publishes on Wednesday and Saturday. The Doings (630-887-0600) publishes on Thursdays.
Individuals wanting to organize a Block Party must fill out the Block Party Application and submit to Village Hall at least one week prior to the event. Block Party Request
Suggested hours for trick-or-treating are from 3 - 7 p.m. in the Village of Indian Head Park.
Sec. 42-10. Special uses.(a) To provide for the location of certain uses hereinafter specified, which are deemed desirable for the public welfare within a given district, but which might have an adverse effect upon nearby properties or upon the character and future development of the district in which they are located, a classification of special use is established.(b) Where a use exists on the effective date of the ordinance from which this chapter is derived and it is classified as a special use by said ordinance, it shall be considered to be a lawful special use. additions or alterations to existing buildings or land improvements for expansion of lawful special uses may be made within the area of the lot included in the ownership existing at the time of adoption of said ordinance, and they shall be subject to yard, floor area ratio and building height requirements set forth in this chapter for permitted uses in the districts in whichthey are located.(c) If the special use ceases for a period of more than one year, the special use permit shall be void and the special use cannot again be started. A special use permit may authorize one or more special uses, in accordance with the terms of the special permit.(d) On each lot in R-1 residential zoning districts, at most only one unattached structure can be erected in addition to the principal building; such unattached structure shall be regarded as an accessory use and will be permitted under provisions of "special uses" as regulated by this chapter, as amended, and by additional requirements specified in village building and property maintenance regulations.(Code 1998, § 17.12.080; Ord. For black and white, letter and/or legal-sized copies, the first 50 pages are free and each additional page is 15 cents. For color copies, abnormal-sized copies, copies made by a 3rd party and electronic copies copied to electronic media (disc, USB flash drive, or other media), the Village can charge the actual cost of copying.
If additional time is needed, the Village of Indian Head Park must notify the requester in writing within 5 business days after the receipt of the request detailing the reasons for the extension and when the documents will be produced.
The utility bill reflects the cost of maintaining our underground sewer line, and our water maintenance system. It also includes the cost to purchase water from the Village’s water supplier, the City of Countryside.Utility bills for water and sewer services are processed through the Village of Indian Head Park Administration Department, located at the Village Hall.
The Police Department uses the Vehicle Sticker system to contact homeowners when garage doors have been left open, to conduct wellbeing checks, etc.
Vehicle stickers do not grant permission to park overnight on Village streets. If you need to park on the street overnight please call the Indian Head Park Police Department Non-Emergency 708-246-4534. Parking tickets will be issued to any cars parked on the street overnight.
New Vehicles: To purchase a sticker for a vehicle that has never not been registered with Indian Head Park, you must bring your vehicle registration, VIN number, & plate information into the Village Hall. Once your vehicle is entered in our Vehicle Sticker system, you do not need to bring in your registration each year. You will receive a renewal notice in the mail instead.
Replacement Sticker: If you purchased a sticker this fiscal year and later in the year purchase a different vehicle, please come in and purchase a replacement sticker for $10 and bring the new car information.

Replacement Stickers remain the same cost throughout the year - $10 After July 1st the cost of vehicle stickers double.
