Burning Restrictions

The Village of Indian Head Park has strict restrictions on burning.The burn restrictions prohibit or restrict burning in order to protect the public health, well being and overall safety; and prohibit activities that include open fires, and any other activity which could be reasonably calculated to lead to the ignition and/or spread of wildfires.
No person or company may burn any rubbish, garbage, trash or other organic refuse anywhere in the Village, except in an incinerator complying with all applicable laws and ordinances. Wood fires are allowed in fireplaces, stoves, heaters or furnaces safely designed, constructed and installed for such purposes and complying with all applicable laws and ordinances. Outdoor wood fires are permitted for recreational or for ceremonial purposes. If you have any questions, please contact Public Works or the Village Hall with questions. 

Any person, firm or corporation violating the Indian Head Park burning restrictions will  be fined anywhere between $10.00 - $200.00 fee for each offense.
