Commencing on approximately June 24, 2019, the Village of Indian Head Park will begin the replacement of approximately 7,500 feet of water main infrastructure at various locations around the village. The water main improvements will replace old water main infrastructure including water service lines from the water main to the service box. The infrastructure improvements will increase the reliability of the water system and decrease the number of water main breaks. These improvements are being funded by a low interest loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Public Water Supply Loan Program (PWSLP). The PWSLP is funded by both state and federal sources. The $2,416,348 loan has an interest rate of 1.38% and a repayment duration that can be repaid within 20 years. (The Water Main Replacement will be affecting Waubansee, Blackhawk Trail south of Waubansee, East Gate (just off of Blackhawk Trail), Shabbona Lane, Tecumseh east of Shabbona, and Cochise Drive east of Osceola)
